Hort Park

The day started with a visit to the Hort Park @ 33 Hyderabad Road, Off Alexandra Road.

As this is the last Saturday of the month, the Guided Tour is FOC. But as we have some free time before the Guided Tour commences, we have decided to wonder around the podium area and take some pictures.

As the sun was shinning brightly and weather was good. The kids decided to run around the park and explore the neatly trim vegetation. You can tell from the picture that they are loving it, right?

The Guided Tour lead us through a several themes within Hort Park. Descriptions were given on the types of plants grown in our environment, like kitchen, living rooms and so on and their suitability on the types of watering it need.

Our tour guide, Gary, was also able to relate some of the smells that comes out from the respective leaves/flowers in the Spice Theme area and I thought this is rather interesting as we are nowadays too busy with our urban lifestyle to notice the softer side of things.

The tour ended after Gary briefed us on the type of Greenhouse flowers they had bred and in ideal condition, the flowers will bloom all year round. Interesting!
